He has been her roommate for the last ten years, but he has also been a father, family man and friend to many. Before that, Sean was Nipsey’s bartender Martin, the sitcom that launched Martin Lawrence into stardom. Like Marsel, Sean was also Martin’s boyfriend. What was Sean Lampkin’s cause of death? The actor was best known for playing Nipsey on “Martin.”
In another moving tribute on Facebook, Sean’s cousin Memnar Grayton spoke about the kind of person he was. “There are two kinds of people in the world. They are givers and takers,” Memnar wrote. “God will always bless the giver, while the devil will always emphasize the taker.” Memnar knew Sean was a “life giver.”
Sean died in his sleep on March 8, according to the Post. No other information has been reported at this time.

The many opportunities Sean has given to others are impressive and beautiful. “He always gave his time, effort, emotion, knowledge and love to anyone in need,” Memnar shared. “Sean gave us the bright sun each morning to guide his loved ones and friends to bright and hazard-free paths of wanting to do nothing.” His cousin went on to share about Sean’s exuberant laugh and positive attitude.
Sean Lampkin was a talented actor and an incredible friend.
At IMDB Sean is often credited as executive assistant to Martin Lawrence, even as late as 2020 filming bad boys for life. On March 16, Sean’s friend, actor Orlando Deral, wrote on Instagram about one of his passions. Obviously, Sean was part of a tight-knit group of people who loved to skate. “There was a time when we used to roller-skate three to four times a week,” Orlando wrote. When Orlando was just starting out, he got a little help from his friend.
“When I first started skating, Sean saw my skates and said, ‘Aw naw, you need good skates if you’re going to roll.’ So he had his skater build me a pair of skates and I’ve been riding them for over 15 years,” his post continued. It’s true what was said; Sean Lampkin was a giver.
