Arsenal transfer guru Edu clearly has a crush on a certain Philippe Coutinho.

Since Edu returned to north London in the summer of 2019, there have been many rumors of the Gunners signing the former Liverpool maestro who has joined Barcelona £142m in 2018.

Even before his move to Aston Villa in January, there was speculation that Arsenal would take over the 29-year-old.

This is someone Edu has worked with in the past in Brazil.

And whisper it, but the wheels could be on the move so that the South American finally gets his man this summer.

Accordingly Mundo Deportivo Arsenal have already been in touch with Coutinho’s representatives on Thursday about a summer transfer to the Emirates Stadium.

This came out on the back of a report Sports last Saturday, who reiterated the Gunners’ eternal desire to sign him.

Fabrizio Romano has previously reported that Aston Villa have not yet decided whether to sign the player on a permanent basis, despite having scored four goals and provided three assists in ten Premier League games since returning to England.

Villa’s indecisiveness could be Arsenal’s advantage in this scenario.

At 29, Coutinho is far from done and still has a few years of his prime left – and those few years could eventually be spent in the Emirates.
