When will Kingdom Hearts release on Nintendo Switch?

Kingdom Hearts is one of Square Enix Japan’s biggest franchises – along with Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest. It sold billions of copies during its existence and spanned over ten games. However, the Nintendo console doesn’t have the privilege of hosting a major Kingdom Hearts title…at least until it was announced at the end of 2021 that the cloud ports of all three mainstream collections will be available on Nintendo Switch.

Kingdom Hearts III + Re: Mind as well as two HD Collections (I.5 + II.5 HD remake and II.8 HD) will launch on Nintendo Switch via cloud February 10, 2022. It will be released as part of Kingdom Hearts 20th anniversary initiative.

Today there is a short demo for all three games. You can download them from the Nintendo eShop.

However, it’s unclear if Square Enix plans to port these games. This is especially true for Kingdom Hearts III, which has an install size of 75 GB. But Witcher 3 was able to do that with reduced graphics rates, so fans still have hope. But for now, the only way you can play Kingdom Hearts on Nintendo Switch is to run the game on a stable internet connection.
