Whoopi is absent from the show due to her busy schedule. The news was confirmed by Joy Behar. She didn’t hold back to address Whoopi’s absence, as Joy remarked, “If you’re wondering where Whoopi is, the girl has a movie she’s doing!”

While Joy did confirm Whoopi would be back, she didn’t give a date on when that would be. Given that acting appearances tend to take up a lot of time, it’s fair to say that Whoopi may be absent from the show for some time.

Whoopi found herself in the midst of drama a few months ago after commenting on the Holocaust. As reported by US weekly, she said, “If you do, let’s face it, because the Holocaust is not about race. It’s about man’s inhumanity to man. It’s all about this.”

Following her comment, Joy was quick to respond as she said, “Well, they considered Jews a different race,” while Anna Navarro also added that “it’s about white supremacy.”

Whoopi explained: “But these are two white groups of people. You miss the point. The moment you turn it into racing, it’s headed down that alley. Let’s talk about what it is. That’s how people treat each other. It is a problem. It doesn’t matter if you’re black or white, because blacks, whites, Jews…everyone eats each other.”

The actress apologizes for her comments

After receiving much online backlash, Whoopi came forward and apologized.

She said, “On today’s program I said that the Holocaust is ‘not about race, but about man’s inhumanity to man.’ I should have said it’s about both. I stand corrected. The Jewish people around the world have always had my support and that will never let up. I’m sorry for the pain I caused.”
