Where should I play Octopath Traveler 2? Switch vs PS5 vs PC
Unlike the original Octopath Traveler, Octopath Traveler 2 was released on multiple platforms on day one, rather than just the Switch. While nostalgia might win out in the end, you can play the sequel anywhere besides the Nintendo Switch. You may be wondering whether you should play Octopath Traveler 2 on Switch, PlayStation, or PC.
Should I play Octopath Traveler 2 on Switch, PS5 or PC?
Ultimately, the answer depends what you prioritize. The game runs flawlessly on every platform, so performance is not an issue. However, graphics vary between versions. Here are the benefits of each version of Octopath Traveler 2.
The Switch version offers portability and unlike the first Octopath Traveler, you can capture clips as you play. It has reduced graphics. So if you prefer fancy graphics, this version might not be for you. The main appeal of the Nintendo Switch version is that you can easily play it docked or take it with you on the go.

The PS5 version, and to a lesser extent the PS4 version, offers more graphically enhanced Experience. Octopath Traveler 2 has better frame rate and graphics and is awesome DualSense Integration. You sacrifice portability, so keep that in mind if you decide to go with the PlayStation version. While the PS4 version still holds up well, it’s slightly inferior to the PS5 and doesn’t have DualSense support.
Finally, the PC version seemingly combines that Best of both worlds. While the PC version is fine, fans will likely prefer playing it on Steam Deck. This offers portability, the ability to play docked, awesome graphics and frames, and possibly mods. This makes it possibly the best place to play Octopath Traveler 2.
