Bagon can be found in a at the earliest cave somewhere on these cliffs near Alfornada. These Bagons are around level 16 to 20. You don’t have to enter the cave that leads to Alfornada (this is the cave with Pokémon over level 30).

From Contondo, head southwest until you see a bridge leading to the Western Province (Area One). From the gas station Western Province Pokémon Center (Area 1).to travel north. Drop onto the easternmost piece of land and travel your way back up. You should of course go through a cave full of Bagons and Gibles. They aren’t the “rare” Pokémon that the Pokédex found in these areas!

Bagons are born with an ability called Rock Head. This prevents this type from taking recoil damage. But once it evolves into Salamence, Rock Head changes to Intimidate, which lowers the opposing Pokemon’s Attack when it’s sent out. Intimidate, along with Salamence’s great type (Dragon/Flying), makes it a top choice for Victory Road. With the right species and moveset, you can even take it into PvP and win a few battles.
