A splash of love‘ is Hallmark’s latest romantic film of the summer and features some truly stunning footage from the film crew.

According to director Heather Hawthorn-Doyle Instagram post with a quaint take-out restaurant (embedded below), it was filmed in British Columbia’s Squamish-Lillooet Regional District. Named MOUNTAIN WOMAN, the restaurant is located in Britannia Beach in the regional district.

It makes sense that this movie was filmed there since the events take place in the “Pacific Northwest” according to Hallmark’s synopsis. The film is about a graduate student who wants to learn more about the whales of this particular region.

The Squamish-Lillooet Regional Unit in British Columbia contains four parishes: Lillooet, Pemberton, Whistler and Squamish. You’ll probably know Whistler better as this is where the In 2010 the Olympic Games took place.

This region of Canada is absolutely stunning! Located right in the Rocky Mountains, the county was home to stunning footage that Hawthorn-Doyle shared on social media. Her Instagram profile revealed that she spent many hours scouting locations to shoot the film and genuinely enjoyed the experience.

She was also quick to share filming locations on Instagram when the film began filming.

Hawthorn Doyle is known for Hallmarks like Romance to the Rescue and two Godwink Christmas movies.

She continued working on the film earlier this month and remixed some audio files for the feature, as she shared in the post below.

She said she was “incredibly proud” of this film.

She wrote in the above post: “One week Saturday coming out this movie I’m incredibly proud of! A love story not just between @rhiannonmfish and @hollingsworthb… from the start I wanted it to be a love story about the Pacific Northwest and our beautiful landscape as well. It was also written as a love letter to whales, particularly orcas.”

She also shared the movie trailer with the caption “Saturday July 30th 🖤🤍” – black and white hearts, probably for the orcas!

Rhiannon Marie Fish is a Canadian-Australian actress. Her first on-screen role was as Lisa Jeffries on the TV soap opera Neighbors. She was later chosen to play Rocky on the Australian Disney Channel show As the Bell Rings.

Ben is played by a Canadian actor Benjamin Hollingsworth. Hollingsworth is known for shows like Virgin River, Code Black, and A Godwink Christmas: Meant for Love.
