Hallmark’s film synopsis reads:

Pop singer Darcy (Murin) is a one-hit wonder who dreams of reviving his singing career. When her recently widowed sister Gretchen (Robertson) needs her, she returns to her hometown in Ohio. There, she learns that her niece, Megan (newcomer Cassidy Reichman), has been denied a spot on The Herald Angels, the high school caroling team on which Darcy was once the star. When Darcy learns that her old rival Adam (Penny) is now leading the award-winning team, Darcy asks her niece to start her own group and they recruit other talented singers who didn’t make it. The two teams agree on a runoff — whoever wins will represent the school in the county’s annual Christmas carol contest. The styles of the two coaches could not be more different. Adam, who feels he had to work hard for everything he got, keeps his students at a high level and avoids giving them false hope. Meanwhile, Darcy sees herself in her students, preferring to see their shortcomings as “an opportunity for impressive growth.” Soon, Darcy’s gentle approach is helping her students find their voice, and they have a real shot at winning the sing-off. As the competition draws closer, students realize they have a better chance of winning if they merge groups, forcing competing coaches to put aside their differences and work together. Darcy and Adam’s relationship goes from rivalry to friendship and soon something more. But an unexpected opportunity threatens to disrupt their newfound harmony.
