Tyra Banks has been the host of ABC’s “Dancing With the Stars” since the season 29 premiere. The TV star and supermodel were brought in to replace Tom Bergeron and Erin Andrews when they were fired from the show.

According to a report dated April 12, 2022 from the sunBanks was fired from the show following its historic move from ABC to Disney+ ahead of season 31 in fall 2022. The outlet reported that a source said, “It doesn’t look like Tyra is coming back.”

According to the source, it has not yet been officially decided who could take over this position.

Heavy has reached out to ABC and Disney+ for comment on the report, but they have not yet responded.

Some Dancing With the Stars pros might be open to hosting

Current and former “Dancing With the Stars” pros might be willing to take on the hosting job on the show if given the opportunity.

Julianne Hough was a professional dancer and judge on the show, and with so much content airing on ABC and partnerships with Disney, it’s possible she’ll be asked to be a new host.

Maks Chmerkovskiy, a former pro, has also expressed interest in hosting the show.

“I would love to host,” Maks said Us weekly in 2021. “I would fill all the shoes on this show. I wish I had that understanding when I first came to the show, we had a different process because I honestly didn’t have any examples of that in front of me to say, ‘Oh, that’s how it is.’ ”

His brother Val Chmerkovskiy has said he’s retiring from dancing professionally on the show, but that doesn’t mean he’d also retire from the hosting job if asked.

Kaitlyn Bristowe has expressed interest

Kaitlyn Bristowe, winner of season 29 of Dancing With the Stars and former Bachelorette, has expressed interest in taking over and hosting the show.

A fan took to Twitter to say that Bristowe is set to be the host of “Dancing With the Stars.”

“Listen to me… @kaitlynmbristowe hosts @DancingABC. #DWTS”, The fan tweeted.

Bristowe saw and shared the tweet with the caption“I mean, if the position is open…”

It wouldn’t be her first appearance hosting a show. Bristowe and former “Bachelorette” Tayshia Adams took over as hosts of “The Bachelorette” in 2021, and they both hosted two seasons of the show, including the special “After the Final Rose,” which airs live.

Who do the fans think will host?

In a Reddit threadone fan listed who he thinks could take over, including Tom Bergeron, Alfonso Ribeiro, Leah Remini, Kaitlyn Bristowe, Amanda Kloots and Jeannie Mai.

“If I bet on it [who] I think we will replace Tyra. I honestly predict we’ll end up with Tom and Kaitlyn or if Tom doesn’t come back, Alfonso and Kaitlyn,” the post reads. “I think the production will do their best to get Tom back and possibly offer him more money and a say in creative decisions with the show. I could imagine Alfonso being their back up plan if Tom doesn’t have a price and doesn’t want to come back even if Andrew is gone.”

Regarding Bergeron, however, he has made it clear that he will not be returning to “Dancing with the Stars” in the future, and upon hearing of Llinares’ departure from the show, he tweeted, “Karma is off****.”

“Kaitlyn and unpopular opinion, Amanda doesn’t have enough experience.” one person wrote. “Holding the lecture together for a year and hosting DWTS is something completely different. I think Alfonso will stay with AFV. I think Tom is done even with Andrew gone, but that would be the best case. The Real ends so Jeannie is really perfect and probably not expensive so you can have a co-host. In my opinion the Jeannie + Mario Lopez guy is the best combination.”

Some people said they would “love to” see Jordan Fischer, a former champion, also host the show. One person said they would like it if he was paired with Season 30 contestant Mel C.

Dancing With the Stars returns to a new home in Fall 2022. The show will now air live exclusively on Disney+ instead of ABC.
