Who is Frannie Marin in Survivor? Her showmanship explored

If survivor was a baby, they would be 22 now, about to graduate from college and step into real life as adults with a real job. Ok, weird metaphor, but it’s crazy to think that survivor has been an integral part of our lives for 22 years.

Season 44 premiered on March 1st survivor has already offered us everything week after week that gets us in the right mood: competition, interpersonal dynamics and, of course, deviousness. Frannie Marin has quickly become a fan favorite with her (her words) feisty personality and overall bubbly nature. Well, that doesn’t necessarily mean she won’t stab you in the back…she will just do it with a smile.
Let’s meet Frannie!
Who is Frannie Marin in Survivor?

Frannie Marin is 23 years old research coordinator from St. Paul, Minnesota. Frannie currently lives in Boston, MA and works for the CHA Center for Mindfulness and Compassion. In the first episode, Frannie said that she could guide the Soka tribe through yoga and meditation.

Before moving to Boston, Frannie was a student at the University of Massachusetts and holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Integrative Neuroscience. She was also her high school’s valedictorian!
In this clip about Frannie, she explains that “it’s important for me to be there survivor to prove to myself that I can actually do it…”. Speaking further about her personality, Frannie says, “I think I probably exude anxious energy. I’m pretty buzzed, but I feel like I’m kinda just piquant. Zesty is like my word, I love the word zesty and I feel like it describes me so well.”

Frannie ends the clip by explaining her strategy survivorrevealing, “…I really want to stab people in the back and do potentially mean things, but I want to do it all with a smile and hopefully not make people too angry on their way out.” she is in it to win it.
Frannie already has an appearance with fellow tribesman Matt Blankinship.

Frannie and Matt instantly bonded on Soka Tribe. Frannie even described them as “two big goofy magnets that can’t be pulled apart.” Matt is a 27-year-old software engineer from San Francisco, California who has been very vocal about getting out of a relationship recently.

Their closeness has caused some of the other members of the tribe to hesitate because you never know what will happen survivor and think their proximity could be used against them.
But despite the tribesman’s concerns, host Jeff Probst is really looking forward to this showmanship narration TV Insider The, ” [It’s] our first showmance in a very long time…all I can say is that if it lasted it would make me very happy.”
It’s important to note that Frannie identifies as queer and proudly shares this with her Instagram bio with rainbow flag. Although Frannie didn’t mention it on the show, the connection she feels with Matt could just be a friendship.
Which is maybe for the best. After all, it’s better to be stabbed in the back than in the heart. Or is it?
