Who is leading the NBA 21/22 MIP odds?

The NBA Most Improved Player 2021/22 award is perhaps only second to the Most Valuable Player award that is handed out to an individual basketballer, with those that receive the recognition of this award also able to enjoy the praise that much of the sporting world has for them.

Indeed, there have been a number of stars to have been able to win the award in the past, with many being honored to have been able to receive it because it shows that they have managed to make progress in regard to their own individual careers.

Naturally, there is always a lot of buzz surrounding the individuals who are in contention for the award each season, although it could be argued that there is a little less excitement this year as many have suggested that it has already been won.

Nonetheless, there will still be some that will want to enjoy a spot of NBA betting and will see this market as a potential opportunity to enhance their overall experience, especially if they know that they can pick the right person and profit from the selection that they make.

Let’s take a look at four of the candidates to win this year’s Most Improved Player award and the NBA odds that they have been provided in order to do so:

Ja Morant (-1000)

Almost everybody has already decided that Ja Morant is the player-in-waiting to win the Most Improved Player 2021/22 award this season, with many sportsbooks who provide NBA betting markets having already identified him as the clear favorite.

Naturally, it is extremely hard to disagree with what they have said as the Memphis Grizzlies point guard has been incredible throughout the campaign. The 22-year-old already looks to be a superstar on the court and has clearly worked on improving his game across a number of key metrics.

In fact, his whole attacking production has increased significantly, which is one of the reasons why the Grizzlies have now propelled themselves to the No. 2 spot in the Western Conference.

Darius Garland (+600)

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been one of the biggest surprises in the entire NBA this season, as they have managed to put themselves in playoff contention, and one reason why this has happened is due to the significant improvements that Darius Garland has enjoyed whilst on the basketball court.

The guard has had to be rather vital to the Cavs this season following season-ending injuries to the likes of Collin Sexton and Ricky Rubio, however the pressure placed on his shoulders and the extended run in the team only appear to have helped him.

In his third year, Garland has managed to improve significantly in regard to his own offensive production, with March having been an exceptional year for him from a personal standpoint.

Miles Bridges (+1,600)

We are now getting into territory whereby it would seem that the rest of the candidates to win the 2021/22 Most Improved Player Award are real outsiders, however they are still in the race as long as it is being run and deserve the credit and acknowledgment.

Indeed, Miles Bridges is one of those individuals and has simply managed to continue to impress after making a number of strong performances towards the end of the last campaign.

The Charlotte Hornets forward continues to improve across a number of key metrics including achieving a number of career-high averages across the board such as in scoring and improving his defensive responsibilities.

Dejounte Murray (+1,600)

Given the same chance as Bridges, San Antonio Spurs point guard Dejounte Murray rounds off the players that are thought to have any real chance; those that follow him in the betting odds currently have a value of +4000 or greater.

Murray has had to step up but, at the same time, has been given the opportunity to do so after DeMar DeRozan left the organization. Indeed, the point-guard has benefited immensely, as he has been able to record career-highs in attacking stats, whilst also becoming a vital member of the franchise moving forward.

Additionally, he did recently see his form and improvement recognized as he made his first All-Star appearance recently, but being named the Most Improved Player in 2021/22 is something that seems unlikely at this moment.
