There has been a lot of news surrounding the Lost Ark game director. During Gold River’s tenure as director, Lost Ark became a huge success. However, he is about to end his tenure as he is set to step down at the end of the year.
Lost Ark director Gold River’s illness
Gold River was game director for Lost Ark for a number of years, but he will retire from being an active director in December 2022. His severe health issues, coupled with the heavy workload of a game director, caused him a lot of stress. A new director will be appointed by the end of 2022 or early 2023.

Gold River revealed its deteriorating health during a Korean developer broadcast. He said his health was so bad that an ambulance was on call during a LOA-ON event he attended. With this kind of news, it’s no wonder he’s so keen on leaving Lost Ark.
With a tweet with a gold medal and a wave, Lost Ark confirmed the big news. We assume that’s to pay tribute to Gold River, which isn’t much but sends a good message of solidarity with the director.
