Who is the protagonist of Final Fantasy XVI?
The main character and protagonist of Final Fantasy XVI is Clive Rosfield, who begins the story at the age of 15. He is the eldest son of Rosaria’s ruling family; However, he is passed over in favor of his younger brother Joshua. Joshua Rosfield is chosen as Rosaria’s heir and becomes Dominant of Phoenix, Rosaria’s Eikon.

Although Joshua is the dominant and not Clive, the younger brother shares the power of the phoenix Eikon with his older brother. As a result, Clive can harness the power of this Eikon, but also collect other Eikons. After being passed over for the succession, Clive becomes Joshua’s bodyguard.
