The death of Chicago photographer Sania Khan has left her followers in mourning. The content creator passed away on Monday 18 July at the age of 29.
Police reports submitted by The Chicago Sun Times claim Sania was “fatally shot” at her condo in Streeterville, Chicago.
The news prompted an outpouring of grief from Sania’s social media followers, who had followed her journey as a photographer.
Who was Sania Khan?
Sania Khan was a Chicago-based photographer and content creator specializing in wedding and couples photography. On their professional websiteit states that her life “really began the day I bought my first DSLR”.
Her website also showcases Sania’s stunning work.
The 29-year-old, originally from the mountain town of Chattanooga, Tennessee, relocated to Chicago, Illinois in June 2021.
The photographer also reveals on her website that she used to be a flight attendant.
Sania also documented her divorce journey on tik tok.
Sania’s friend remembers her
One of Sania’s high school friends shared this solar times that the photographer was planning to move back home. She wanted to “start planning her next step in her career as a photographer.”
“You just started the next chapter of your life when you left us,” her friend wrote on Facebook. according to the Sun Times“and I hope that this next chapter will bring you the happiness and success you’ve always wanted, wherever you are.”
In college, Sania majored in psychology and women’s studies. She later became a flight attendant “to support herself as a traveling photographer,” according to her friend.
“She could make anyone a friend and was always there for them in their moments,” Sania’s friend reportedly wrote.
“You would have a hard time finding anyone who would say anything bad about Sania because just knowing about Sania has brought so much light to your life.”
A look at Sania’s TikTok
The young creator slowly built her following on social media.
On tick tock, Sania had over 3000 followers. Her bio reads, “South Asian, Divorce/Healing, Photographer.”
Sania documented both her photographic journey and her experience of a divorce.
In one of her videos she has wrote: “The first few months of a divorce are the darkest. It is full of anxiety and sleepless nights.”
She also posted empowering messages for their followers.
