The Indianapolis 500 asked local Indiana trio Girl Named Tom — siblings Caleb, Joshua and Bekah Liechty, from South Bend, Indiana — to sing “America the Beautiful” ahead of the 2022 race, Indianapolis Motor Speedway said in a press release.

“Caleb, Joshua and Bekah caught America’s attention during their winning streak on ‘The Voice,’ and their performance will be one of the highlights of the pre-race ceremonies,” said IMS President Doug Boles in a statement. “We welcome them back home to Indiana, along with the big race day crowd and national live TV audience on NBC, and look forward to their rendition of this beautiful tribute to our great nation.”

The trio is currently touring the country, with dates in Pennsylvania in late May, then in June and July in Virginia, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, New York, New Jersey, Maryland and South Carolina. The tour runs until mid-October; You can see all shows on the trio’s website.

It’s been a whirlwind for the trio since winning season 21 of The Voice in fall 2021. she said Distractify in an interview in January 2022 that her goal for this year is to write a full-length album.

“We are SO EXCITED about our new music! Our goals for 2022 are clear: release a full-length album full of meaningful songs and hit the road when we can,” Caleb said, with Joshua adding, “Write, record, release, repeat! And of course tour; We look forward to playing for our amazing fans and connecting with them when we can.”

The trio’s coach on “The Voice” was Kelly Clarkson, who herself sang the national anthem at the Indianapolis 500 several times. The singer of the 2022 national anthem is High School Musical star and Dancing With the Stars champion Jordan Fisher.

“The national anthem is a defining moment before the race, and Jordan is ready to welcome fans back to Indianapolis Motor Speedway with a memorable and emotional performance in the racing capital of the world,” said Boles. “This year’s pre-race show is going to be amazing and I know our fans along the track and everyone watching on NBC will be amazed by the excitement, tradition and pageantry on display as we head to the green wait for the flag.”

Alongside Fisher and Girl Named Tom, the pre-race Grand Marshal is none other than voice coach and country superstar Blake Shelton.
