Who will win the baby names game?

My daughter is pregnant and wants to talk about baby names. I hesitate. My parents never advised me what to name my children or how to raise them. My wife and friends all say I should jump into the name game.
I’m sensitive about names. I have an artificial last name. My father changed it from Soltzberg in 1941. He picked up Stratton from a phone book in a waiting room before an interview. He was hired. Anti-Semitism was the reason for the name change. When I finished college, I told my dad I was considering moving back to Soltzberg, and he freaked out, “You’re looking for trouble. Do not do it!”
