At the 2022 BET Awards, rappers Shyne and Diddy reunited after their last beef when the two performed on stage together.
The duo’s performance got many fans talking. Most were shocked to see them perform together after their troubled past.

Who is Shine?
In layman’s terms, Shyne, whose full name is Moses Michael Levi Barrow, is a Belizean rapper and politician. He is currently leader of the opposition in Belize.
The 44-year-old rapper rose to fame in the early 2000s. He is best known for his songs Bad boy and Bonnie & Shine.
He has also worked with people like Usher, Lil Wayne, Notorious BIG and Diddy.
Shyne was featured on Usher’s 2004 album confessionsLil Waynes CarterIVNotorious BIG reborn and Diddy’s Forever.
The rapper was previously signed to Diddy’s Bad Boy Records and Def Jam Recordings.
Despite his rising fame in the early 2000s, things went downhill for the rising star just before the release of his debut album.
He was involved in a shooting at a nightclub December 1999 in Manhattan and was later sentenced to 10 years in prison. He continued to release music during his incarceration and converted to Judaism while in prison.
After his release in 2009, the rapper was eventually deported to Belize.
Shyne was elected to the Belize House of Representatives in the 2020 general election.
What happened between Shyne and Diddy?
On December 27, 1999, Shyne, Diddy and his then-girlfriend Jennifer Lopez were at Club New York in Midtown Manhattan.
During your night, Diddy is said to have been involved in a verbal altercation with another clubgoer, causing Shyne to draw his gun and fire off shots.
The rapper ended up injuring three contestants. Diddy was exonerated as not guilty of the gun charges, while Shyne was convicted and sentenced to 10 years in prison.
During one of Shyne’s recent appearances on the drinking champs Podcast, he revealed he had forgiven Diddy.
“I can’t blame him for that as much now as I did then.” explained Shine. “Because I went through a period of bitterness. But in hindsight, I tend to blame it on the lawyers who advised him. Because his lawyers were there to do whatever it took to get a not guilty verdict.”
When Shyne was elected opposition leader in Belize in 2020, some government officials tried to block ex-convicts from running for office. Then Diddy supported him.
“Diddy lost it when he heard that,” Shyne revealed. “He’s got the REVOLT people involved, he’s got the publicists, he’s got his lawmakers friends. He said, ‘We can’t let that happen.’ Puff redeemed himself completely for me.”
Rappers reunite at the BET Awards
Shyne and Diddy gave a stunning performance at the 2022 BET Awards with the national flag of Belize in the background.
Both Shyne and Diddy rapped and harmonized on the hit “Bad Boyz.” The track’s lyrics were also changed, with Shyne singing “Prime Minister the next step” at one point.
