Why are the flags at half-mast in Pennsylvania?

(WJET/WFXP/YourErie.com)– Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has ordered that all United States and Pennsylvania flags be flown half flag on all Commonwealth facilities, public buildings and properties in Erie and Mercer counties in honor of the late EMT Michael Harrington of EmergyCare become.

According to the release from Gov. Shapiro’s office, Harrington died on duty.

The flags will remain at half-mast until sundown on the as-yet-unannounced internment date.
