Wild Hearts Executive Producer details on post-launch content and microtransactions

Wild hearts & full wallets.

The Wild Hearts release date isn’t far off, which means the juicy details are finally being revealed. The game’s executive producer, Lewis Harvey, took to Reddit for an AMA on all things Wild Hearts. Between all the questions about the Kemono creatures, Harvey answered a question about what kind of monetization players can expect.

Reddit user Grand_Fun8174 asked, “I suppose one of the biggest questions up front is what can we expect for monetization of the game. Will there be microtransactions? If so, what items are on sale?” With things having stalled lately when it comes to live service gaming, it’s a valid concern.

Lewis Harvey took this opportunity to announce that “All post-launch content will be free, including the new Kemono and more! We have no plans to present MTX.” This certainly means big things for Wild Hearts as it indicates that EA is confident the game will be a huge hit.

Considering EA is positioning Wild Hearts as the ultimate monster hunter killer, it only makes sense to go that route. Main competitor Monster Hunter Rise has been selling weapon packs and an expansion, so announcing that Wild Hearts is giving away content at no extra cost is a bold move to steal the focus.

Twinfinite got the chance to do a hands-on preview in October 2022 and found the struggle with unique designs for the Kemono intuitive. Wild Hearts will only be released on current-gen hardware and will be available on February 17th for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
