If you’re having a bit of trouble playing The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on PC or console, CD Projekt RED has released a new patch that should fix issues you may have encountered. Patch 4.02 is currently rolling out and should be available on all platforms by the end of the day on March 13th.
If you enjoy cross-progression and are using your Xbox One, it’s possible that you’ve encountered an issue where the game wasn’t able to load your quicksaves. This issue has now been resolved and you should be able to switch to your Xbox One from any other platform and all your saves will be there.
The patch also does the helpful job of correcting quests that could completely prevent players from progressing through the story. Perhaps the most troublesome example of this occurred during the “Preparing for Battle” quest, which did not give players a major dialogue option when working on the “Let Avallac’h Know All Is Ready” objective. This has now been corrected in the new patch and things should work as intended.
As for the visual updates, those on PC and next-gen consoles now have the option of a motion blur slider, allowing everyone to adjust their comfort level. Motion blur is best known for making things feel smoother in games at 30 FPS, but it’s been reported to cause headaches and eye strain at higher frame rates. If someone had problems before, they can now restrict this feature to avoid negative effects.
If you want to see the full list of changes and bug fixes, you can find it on The Witcher’s official website.
