Christina Hall says she has so much on her plate — including her HGTV shows, design projects, homes in California and Tennessee, and three kids — that she has no interest in adding a new baby into the mix. But saying so in the past hasn’t stopped fans from constantly asking if she and her third husband, Josh Hall, are hoping to expand their family. In an Instagram Live session last week, Christina and Josh attempted to answer the “eight million questions” they received about a possible pregnancy, while also describing how exhausting life with children, animals and without an assistant can be.

When Christina, 39, married Josh, 41, a former police officer and real estate agent, in early 2022, he became stepfather to their three children. She shares 12-year-old Taylor and seven-year-old Brayden with her first husband and former Flip or Flop co-star Tarek El Moussa, and three-year-old Hudson with her second husband, TV host Ant Anstead.
During a Feb. 2, 2023 Instagram Live session reviewed by Heavy, the pair revealed the questions they receive most frequently from fans. Sitting by the pool at her home in Newport Beach, Calif., Christina said she’s frequently asked about having a baby with Josh, although she’s already said she’s not interested.
In January she has to People magazine“I can’t imagine that at all. I think my head would fall off. We are happy with the three. It’s all right.”
During her Instagram Live last week, she reiterated that stance.
“We had about 8 million questions about having a baby,” she said. “Sorry guys! Ship has sailed. No more babies!”
Josh chimed in: “Good for other people who want them at that age. I’m glad they have it. But at some point I want to retire.”
Christina then added: “We already have three guys. I don’t care how old we are – we’re three and they’re in different schools and sports and everywhere. So we have our hands full trying to juggle the kids and work and things. It just wouldn’t be fair to another kid.”
Christina & Josh Hall Say Assistant Parenting Tires Them
Christina has 50/50 custody of all three children, although finalizing a custody agreement for Hudson in November 2022 was a bumpy road. She and Anstead eventually agreed on vacation plans and schooling for their three-year-old, as well as limits to keep him out of paid promotions and their shows.
During their Instagram Live, Christina and Josh said the days when they have all three children in their care are exhausting, especially since they don’t have an assistant.
“Three kids in three different schools isn’t easy,” Josh told fans. “Christina and I usually split this load. Sometimes we get some help when we’re busy, but driving kids to three different schools is a job in itself.”
But Christina then contradicted Josh, saying they had no help with the kids.
“We’re like a glutton for the punishment or something because, for example, we don’t have an assistant and we really don’t have anyone to help us with the kids. (We) do literally everything with the kids on our days.”
Josh said that being an instant stepdad made him an early riser, going to bed by 10pm.
“I start the day at 5:30 a.m. and Christina starts around 6:30 a.m.,” he revealed. “And I never thought I’d go to bed early, but by 10 a.m. I’m out of the light. I’m dead. We have a lot to do. Obviously people only see a small fraction of what’s either posted on social media or what you get in episodes, but Christina and I[have]very manic minds.”
The halls also have animals to care for. Fans have met Josh’s longtime dog, Stella, and her pup, Cash, both of whom live in her California home. At their escape farm in Tennessee, where they are filming “Christina in the Country,” they also have chickens, goats, and miniature donkeys, after people.
“Someone always asks — they always want to know — who’s taking care of the animals when we go home,” Josh said of the farm animals during her Instagram Live. “We are not neglectful parents. Our animals don’t just sit in the yard waiting for our return. We have caretakers to help who send us videos, pics and updates. We love these animals.”
