Will Colin Kaepernick Return to the NFL After Retiring, 49ers Release?

Back in the game? Colin Kaepernick’s NFL career may not be over yet. The former quarterback revealed he wants to rejoin the NFL after more than 5 years without playing, and expressed that he would like to join any team, no matter the position.
Kaepernick chatted along with fellow soccer stars Chad Johnson, Adam “Pacman” Jones and Brandon Marshall i am an athlete Podcast about her own future. “I know I have to find my way back. So if I have to come in as a substitute, that’s fine,” said Kaepernick. “But I’m not staying there. And if I prove that I’m a starter, I want to be able to be on the pitch as one.”
The 34-year-old football player left the NFL after a year of protesting racial injustice in 2017. Kaepernick was playing for the San Francisco 49ers when he first knelt during the national anthem. The activist did not renew his contract and did not play for any other teams after that. 2017 Kaepernick filed a complaint against NFL owners for collusion to withdraw “employment rights in retaliation for Mr. Kaepernick’s leadership and advocacy of equality and social justice and his awareness of particular institutions that continue to undermine racial equality in the United States.”
However, some NFL teams have asked about Kaepernick’s game status and whether he was still able to play. “He definitely has the ability to play on someone’s list – like right now,” said Kaepernick’s training partner David Robinson. “For example, a couple of the guys that have been on NFL teams said his arm is just as strong as those guys that we just added to our roster and can play.”
Although he has recently pursued other endeavors such as acting, writing a children’s book, and running his Know Your Rights Camp campaign, Kaepernick has not shied away from his own education. “I’m still up 5 a.m. and training five, six days a week to make sure I’m ready to lead a team to a Super Bowl again,” he said in an interview with ebony. “This is something I will never let go of, despite the actions of 32 teams and their partners to deny me employment. As persistent as I was in high school, I will be persistent here.”
