Dancing With the Stars professional dancer Cheryl Burke has officially retired from ballroom dancing competitions as a professional, but she’s moving on to the next phase in her career. Some fans think she will join America’s Got Talent.

Since announcing her retirement, Burke has been clear that she still wants to be on television. During an Instagram Live, she told fans, “Hopefully I’ll still be gracing your TV screens, so we’ll see. Let’s see if I have any news to announce soon. I hope just wait I’m waiting for it to happen, so hopefully it will happen soon.”

She later shared in an episode of her “Burke in the gamepodcast that she’s in talks for a new show and has auditioned but is waiting for the show to be renewed and the ratings for the show’s final season to come out.

one person on Reddit posited that it might be “America’s Got Talent”.

“I just have a HUGE feeling that she’s the next AGT judge and she can’t follow AGT yet not to reveal but she’s recently followed NBC as it’s at the top of her follow list. So is that a sign?” One person wrote, noting that Burke follows both NBC and The Voice on Instagram.

“America’s Got Talent” returns for a spring season

If Burke joins “America’s Got Talent,” it won’t be for the upcoming season of the show, which has already filmed through to the live shows. The upcoming season is an All Stars season of the show, with favorites returning for a chance at a million dollars and a residency in Las Vegas.

America’s Got Talent: All Stars is scheduled to premiere on January 2, 2022.

The show’s new season will star judges Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Simon Cowell, and host Terry Crews. Longtime cast member Sofia Vergara is absent from the season, although it’s possible she’ll be back in future seasons of America’s Got Talent.

So it makes sense that Burke would hold off on announcing until it’s official on all fronts.

Burke was previously in talks to become The Bachelorette

In a November episode of her podcast: “Burke in the game‘ Burke stressed her hopes of being on TV in the near future.

“There’s a lot of talk waiting about that I might be part of another TV show,” she said. “Obviously I don’t want to announce anything that isn’t official in terms of contracts, but it’s definitely in the works and well ahead of this season.”

in the Aug 2022Burke shared that she would one day become the next Bachelorette.

“Years ago I met with the executives of The Bachelorette — years ago, I’d say six, seven years ago — and we discussed making me the Bachelorette,” Burke shared at the time. “It obviously didn’t happen.”

burke also open about many changes in 2022 and announced that she would be working with the Millionaire Matchmaker to find love again.

“It’s been a journey over the last year with so many changes and shifts,” she wrote on Instagram. “I’d spent a lot of time thinking I had to ‘find out’ before diving back into the dating world. I realize I don’t know if there is such a thing as “figuring it out” – I now know that life will be full of curve balls, revelations and new beginnings all along the way. I mean, has anyone really “figured it all out”? I say this as I resolve to re-enter the dating world with my good friend @pattistanger. I’m excited to start this journey and will be bringing you along to @burkeinthegame each week. It will at least be interesting.”

Dancing With the Stars is set to return for Season 32 in Fall 2023.
