Planning for the 2023 PGA Tour is not yet fully complete. The Fall Series begins this week with the 2023 Fortinet Championship, and we select a winless journeyman pro as our long-term candidate. Here are our picks, Fortinet Championship odds, betting favorites and everything else you need to know for the week.

Fortintet Championship Odds: Long Shot Bet

For the first event of this year’s Fall Series, we’re teaming up with a pro who could put the exclamation point on a solid season this week: Mark Hubbard.

Hubbard, who enters the week with +5,000 odds, is a 34-year-old professional originally from Colorado. Hubbard has never won a PGA Tour event, but he has had a very respectable season so far. In 32 starts, Hubbard made 18 cuts and posted an impressive five top-10 finishes.

His best finish of the season came last October at the Sanderson Farms Championship, where he finished T5. This tournament was next on the agenda after last year’s Fortinet Championship, where Hubbard finished with a solid T21.

If you bet $10 on Hubbard to win and he does, you take home $500. If you want to make additional bets, consider making small bets on Hubbard making it to the top 10 and top 20.

Fortinet Championship Odds: The Favorites

With the FedEx Cup Playoffs concluded, most of the star players are sitting out this week, and some players are using the time to prepare for the upcoming Ryder Cup. However, Justin Thomas decided to complete his Ryder Cup preparation at the Fortinet course, where he hopes to regain momentum after a tough year. His odds of winning are +1400.

Leading the way as betting favorite is American Ryder Cup colleague Max Homa (+750), who is aiming for a rare three-peat after winning the last two editions of the Fortinet Championship.

Third in the odds list is Sahith Theegala, who starts the week with odds of +1800.
