Wiz Khalifa apologizes to DJ community after viral nightclub exchange

Wiz Khalifa owes his deeds – even the less kind ones. The Breakfast Club premiered an exclusive interview with artist and host DJ Envy on Thursday. The rapper opened up about the viral moment when he snapped at DJ Mike Danger and MC Tron at a nightclub. Wiz said the video was an emotional moment after calmly warning the couple to get their set list right.

During the 23-minute interview, Wiz apologized for his behavior at the club.

“First, I want to apologize to all the DJs throughout the DJ community for my behavior,” Wiz said. “I realize it was a bit much, and I’m big enough to say, ‘This shouldn’t have happened, this shouldn’t have gone under.’ That’s not how business is done and that’s not how you get your point across. The rapper added, “I sincerely apologize. I didn’t want to upset anyone.”

Wiz says the DJs made several mistakes with his setlist

That black yellow The rapper then explained what led to his outburst. He told Envy the venue booked him for Friday, July 29. The performance also served as a promotional moment for his album multiverse, which fell on the same day. His agreement included the performance of five songs, which he put on a USB stick before the event. But upon executing his setlist, Wiz says the DJs didn’t deliver.

“It was just a real issue with the timing, the firing of the songs; The clues were wrong,” Wiz said. He added, “It wasn’t going right, the music wasn’t going right, there were people talking about it.”

Wiz said he first calmly asked the DJs to pull themselves together and get on the same page as him. He said this was his first attempt to get things going the right way but improvements didn’t materialize.

“It got even more unprofessional as the set progressed,” Wiz said. “Songs played in the middle of my songs.” He added, “I would want to move on to the next one and a song that I didn’t even have in order comes through. So it was really frustrating and I got emotional and I showed my feelings. You can see that mainly in the video.”

Wiz says there’s no excuse for his reaction to the DJs

At that moment, after admitting that his reaction to the DJs was rooted in emotion, he once again admitted his wrong.

“I was definitely out of line for touching the young man’s hat and doing what some people would describe as assaulting a DJ,” Wiz said. It’s not in my character, it’s not how I handle things and it’s unforgivable. It’s not defensible in any way, but the situation was between me and the guys there. And I was just upset, that’s all there was on my side.
