‘World class’ player set to sign for Newcastle but now there’s a problem

Darren Ambrose had advised Gareth Bale to join Newcastle United this summer but the problem for the Magpies is that the Welsh winger has opted for Los Angeles FC in MLS instead. as he told talkSPORT.

Newcastle have been one of the clubs keeping an eye on the 32-year-old this summer as his contract with Real Madrid officially expires at the end of this month.

While some felt Bale was good enough to still play in the Premier League, he has decided against returning to England and, he has confirmed, will start the next chapter of his career in America with Los Angeles FC. as he posted on Twitter.

For the 2020/21 season, Bale opted to return to Tottenham to improve his fitness ahead of Euro 2020 – scoring 11 Premier League goals in his second spell at north London.

It has been evident for some time that the five-time European champions’ form has waned, but former Premier League midfielder Ambrose believes he is still a “world-class” player and would have been good enough for Newcastle.

“I would have said stay at the highest possible level, that would have been the Premier League,” Ambrose said. “Are there customers? I’m almost certain there will be.

“Will he play every week? No, he won’t. I think there’s a chance he can create big moments in every single game he plays.

“With the World Cup in Qatar coming up, he wants to be fit for Wales. Otherwise there were even question marks as to whether he would continue playing.

“I think Newcastle for example would definitely be a taker – I’m not sure about the over-hyped craze. He’s still a world-class player, still has world-class ability but may not have world-class fitness.”

BALE WILL ENJOY GOLF COURSES IN CALFORNIA

In 2020, Bale claimed he would love to move to America to play football and, as he was quoted as saying, “I love going to Los Angeles for the holidays”. as posted by ESPN.

Well, it’s vacation time for Bale because MLS isn’t exactly one of the best leagues in the world because the league itself is much, much tougher.

Given his qualities, he could have chosen a much tougher and more well-known league, but in December, when the 2022 World Cup comes to an end, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Bale announced his retirement.

The end of Bale’s career was certainly a huge disappointment as it was mostly spent in the treatment room, warming up Madrid’s bench and now playing in America.
