West Ham United target Ramus Kristensen admits he may be tempted to leave Red Bull Salzburg in the summer transfer window to boost his World Cup hopes, Speaking To TV2.
The former Ajax defender has only three caps for the Denmark national team and was dropped from the squad by Kasper Hjulmand as De Rod-Hvide reached the semi-finals of the European Championship last summer.
No wonder Kristensen is thinking about his future. After all, the World Cup in Qatar is less than six months away.
Accordingly IMAGE, West Ham United renew interest in long-time transfer target The £10million-rated Kristensen, who missed a move to the London Stadium in 2018, has caught the eye of David Moyes again in an impressive season with the perennial Austrian champions.
And a summer move to West Ham – a rising West Ham side who recently knocked out continental specialists Sevilla from the Europa League – would certainly give Kristensen’s international prospects a timely boost.
Is Rasmus Kristensen on the road?
“The World Cup is the biggest thing for a footballer,” says the 24-year-old. “And a huge dream and goal for me.
“I feel like I have a chance (to get into the Danish squad) so I will pursue it. I will look for the best possible solution in the summer to give myself the best chance of being at the World Cup.”
Kristensen, who has contributed an impressive 10 goals and eight assists from right-backs this season, is in his third season as a Salzburg player.
He admitted a few weeks ago that a fourth appearance at the Red Bull Arena seems unlikely. Especially given that Salzburg has a track record when it comes to selling their prized assets for a profit.
Should Kristensen secure a move to the English capital, he could take Ryan Fredericks’ place. The West Ham benchwarmer is out of contract in July.
