Xi Jinping orders Hong Kong to grasp the outbreak of Spiraling Covid-19

HONG KONG – Chinese leader Xi Jinping has told the Hong Kong government to bring a spiraling Covid-19 outbreak under control that has overwhelmed the city’s healthcare system, highlighting the Beijing’s growing concerns about the crisis while raising the possibility of even tighter restrictions on the global financial hub.

Mr. Xi communicated the directive in articles in the city’s two main state-run newspapers. Hong Kong’s disease control, he said, was “the top task now”, adding that local officials were responsible for controlling the outbreak.
