While in London, Bachelor Zach Shallcross was diagnosed with COVID-19.

“When Zach got the results, he was absolutely devastated,” host Jesse Palmer said during the show.
Executive Producer Nicole Woods said Entertainment Weekly that all candidates and the bachelor were tested for COVID every morning.

First, a group of the women went on a group date alone because Shallcross told them he wasn’t feeling well.
They ended up doing a tour of London including a local pub without Shallcross.
Charity was supposed to get a singles date in London but it was canceled because Shallcross had COVID and host Jesse Palmer informed all the women there would be no cocktail party for the same reason.
Kaity decided to give Shallcross a gift basket but couldn’t see it. Shallcross told her he had faith in their relationship as she said she couldn’t stop thinking about him and “just wanted you to know I’m here.”
Greer struggled as she shared on a video call with Shallcross that she was worried about missing sales quotas when she contracted COVID at the end of the year.
“I could be in front of my person in a matter of weeks, and that means a lot more to me than the end of a sales quarter,” Shallcross said, which made Greer worry she wouldn’t end up getting a rose.
Shallcross spoke to the women via video call during the virtual cocktail party. However, Shallcross said on video that she still feels he “got that clarity that I needed” from the virtual cocktail party.
He and Kat kissed their screens.
“It’s the thought that counts,” Shallcross said.
Since it was a virtual rose ceremony, the women had to get their own roses when choosing
In the end, Greer got a rose and Kylee and Mercedes didn’t. Greer, Charity, Kat, Brooklyn, Jess, Aly and Ariel all received roses from Shallcross.

“Zach was really concerned that he was going to lose time with the women and not be able to continue the relationships that had really started to develop,” executive producer Bennett Graebner told Entertainment Weekly. “He was adamant that he would not send anyone home without spending time with them.”
“We were locked into a production calendar. We know exactly where we are going and when we are going. We booked the next location – we show up that day, we have so many rooms in this hotel,” Graebner added to Entertainment Weekly.
“And the same goes for our London location. So it’s not as simple as, ‘Oh, we’ll just wait and shoot.’ Somehow we have to get to the next place, otherwise we’ll get in a lot of trouble with our bookings. That was part of the fight.”
