Zelda director on Tears of the Kingdom and the timeline

Come out The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you may be curious about where the game fits into the overall timeline of the series. Hidemaro Fujibayashi, the game’s director, was asked about this very topic in an interview with Famitsu.
The outlet pointed out that Skyward Sword was the beginning of things before, and Breath of the Wild took place at the end of the timeline. However, as players know, Tears of the Kingdom is also about the founding of Hyrule. With this in mind, he was asked whether it could also be the beginning.
Here is our translation of Fujibayashi’s response to The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and the timeline:
“It’s definitely a story based on Breath of the Wild. After that, we basically think about how not to destroy the story and world of The Legend of Zelda. Those are the two points I can say at this point.
I think if it doesn’t collapse, fans will have the opportunity to ask themselves different things like “So that means this is possible?” If we’re just talking about the possibilities, if there’s the story of Hyrule’s founding, it’s also possible that Hyrule has collapsed before in its history. I don’t make things up randomly by saying, “Isn’t it interesting if we did this?”, so I hope you enjoy imagining it, even about the parts we don’t have told. “
