Corach Rambler – A Grand National Certainty?
The famous Aintree Grand National is not far away now, and the runners and riders are now known for the world-famous jump race. Held in Liverpool, England, the Grand National sees 40 horses do battle over a distance of 4 miles, all the while negotiating 30 of the biggest fences that the sport has to offer.
The historic race has been won by some of the greatest horses ever to grace the sport of jump racing, and despite there being plenty of runners in this year’s race with Grand National experience, it is a newcomer that is strongly fancied to add his name to the prestigious winner’s list.
Corach Rambler
Corach Rambler will be having his first taste of the thrills and spills of the Grand National in 2023, but despite his inexperience, he is all the rage in the Grand National betting. Having been priced at 12/1 just weeks ago, Corach Rambler is now the 11/2 favorite.
Given the ideal attributes and top-class form that he possesses, it is perhaps no surprise that the British-trained 9-year-old is so strongly supported. Another reason for Corach Rambler’s shortening betting price is his inclusion in the majority of Grand National tips provided by the industry’s top experts.
The Rise Of The Rambler
Despite possessing talent in abundance, Corach Rambler has also got his quirks. He is not the most straightforward animal and needs to be ridden in a certain way for him to be seen at his best. Masterfully trained by Lucinda Russell, Corach Rambler needs to be handled with care and his running style differs from the norm when it comes to jump racing.
The big light bay gelding won two of his three starts over hurdles, but anything he achieved over the smaller obstacles was always going to be a bonus. Having made an average start to life over fences, Corach Rambler’s career took off when he was sent racing over stamina-testing distances.
In March of 2022, he would announce himself on the biggest stage, winning the Ultima Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival, despite once again showing his wayward tendencies towards the end of the race. 12 months later, Corach Rambler would return to Cheltenham to try to defend his crown, something he did with relative ease.
The victory made him just the fourth horse in history to win the race in back-to-back years.

Corach Rambler’s Biggest Rivals
Many experts consider Corach Rambler to be one of the biggest certainties to win a Grand National in many years, but if he is to do so he will have to get the better of some top-quality horses that possess plenty of Grand National experience.
Noble Yeats, Any Second Now, and Delta Work filled the first three places in last year’s Grand National, and all three are returning for another crack at the Aintree showpiece in 2023. Defending Champion, Noble Yeats, is considered to be the main danger to Corach Rambler, but he carries a much bigger weight on his back this year and will need an even bigger performance to make it two from two over the big fences.
If Corach Rambler gets a clear round and runs to his merits, then the Grand National debutant will prove very hard to beat. He will be carrying one of the lightest weights in the race, will relish the 4-mile trip, and it will take a very good horse to beat him to the finish line.
